silver lining in a job

Can't remember when was the last time I watched a Korean drama. But I guess in almost every drama, the lead will always be good looking and has a well-paying job. Their families and friends can screw up but they will always be successful in their career.

Everything is smooth sailing. There will always be a silver lining even though things may turn bad. The good will prevail. Mind you this really only happens in dramas.

Especially at work, when things seem to be in your control but the truth is most of the time it turns out to be otherwise. When workload seems to become lighter, someone out there will know it better than you and start piling up your work. When relationships seem to improve, other problems arise. When things get bad, they will only get worse.

It is a constant challenge in life you would say. I believe so. That's why I always tell myself to be a fighter.

A colleague asked me last night what is the difference between this current job as compared to my previous ones. I said I spend more time managing people. I figured an office is made of people who implement work processes. It is all about adapting and making it work best for yourself. But most of the time, it's just about adapting and making the best out of it.

I like my current job. No other complaints. It's all about adapting which I am trying to get used to. Drama is afterall an adaption of real life situations and they make it look best.

And my life has always been a drama I like best.
